HOW CONCERNED ARE PEOPLE ABOUT THE STATE OF THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT?

On prompt from a spark, I purposed to gauge the concern of us earthlings about the state of the natural environment through search trends. I wanted to know how often people Google the natural environment as a topic. I wanted to know how often people Google issues relating to the natural environment. If you live in a house ought you not to know the layout of and issues affecting the house before you lose the house and become homeless? I wanted to know how much people are concerned about the state of the natural environment- global warming, climate change, rising sea levels etc.
Take a look at the following three charts, from 2013 to 2015:

Google did not assign volumes to the foregoing ratings. However it revealed volumes for some searches for the year 2015.
Searches in connection with the Paris attacks were more than 897 million (Questions asked were a) what happen in Paris? 2) Why did ISIS attack Paris? 3) Is it safe to travel to Paris?).
Searches were made about the Oscars. 406 million searches were made in relation to the Oscars (people wanted to know what the Oscars were made of during the Second World War).
The Cricket World Cup attracted 323 million searches (people wanted to know the number of overs in a World Cup cricket match).
The Nepal earthquake generated 85 million searches (people wanted to how they could donate to the earthquake victims).
The Volkswagen emission scandal attracted 13 million searches (the ownership of Volkswagen is what bothered people).
Water on Mars generated 10 million searches (people wanted to know how long it takes to get to Mars).
Having gone through the charts you should easily realize that the natural environment as topic in any form has little or no place in the search trends. I suppose people search for things they are interested in. If the facts and figures I have presented here are anything to go by, or if it is the representation of global interest generally then earthlings are not showing the required interest in environmental matters.
Rather, what earthlings pour their passion into, according to the search trends, are entertainment, sports, pornography, celebrities, deaths etc. The natural environment, as it were, had no place in the lists, from 2013 to 2015, as a subject or an issue! Where an environmental issue was mentioned (the Volkswagen emission scandal), what was on people’s mind was the ownership of Volkswagen! Under 2014, even under “Reference” the environment as topic was not prominent. In 2015, the Nepal earthquake pulled a search volume of 85 million. The query that premised the search volume was how donations could be made to the earthquake victims. Such compassion is not bad, but what about wanting to know the causes of earthquake which is the fundamental issue.
Such state of apathy reminds me of a quotation in the bible which I should like to use as a parting shot. The quotation could be found at Matthew chapter 24 verse 38 and part of 39: “For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away………”
